Do You Remember?Magic Mountain Fun Center Columbus, Ohio (Polaris)
I have lived in Columbus, Ohio as long as I can remember. I was very lucky to have grandparents that lived nearby.
Before starting school, my mom would drive to their house, drop me off and head off to work. The world was my playground.
When it was too hot or for some more structured play, there was a magical land that smelled like cheese pizza and had gold! A simple concept - gold coins in, play a classic game like whack-a-mole, receive tickets, spend tickets on as much candy and knick knacks as possible. As I got older, putt-putt, laser tag and go-carts were the go to summer activities.
Things change, and recently a construction crew came and knocked down a place that had been around for decades. (For now, the “Magic Mountain” is still visible from the highway).
Looking back, I appreciate my family for taking me somewhere that was so sticky, loud, and crazy.
It takes a lot to get young children out of the house, with the 1,000 lbs of gear, snacks, and “I don’t want to put on my shoes”. However, when they come home exhausted and are sleeping peacefully, it becomes well worth it.
What challenges do you face as a parent of babies and young children?
Where do you go to wear your kids out so maybe you can squeeze in a #nap?
